Stoke Newington School

Rear view of Stoke Newington School in Hackney.

The original concrete buildings, such as the boiler house seen here in the background, were built in 1967-70 to a brutalist design by Stillman and Eastwick-Field architects.

In 2010 the school was renovated and improved as part of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme, to a design by Jestico + Whiles architects. This includes the addition of the corten steel panels running through the middle of this shot.
