double stack

Main entrance of the Royal College of Physicians, on St Andrew's Place at the south-eastern end of Regent's Park. The building opened in 1964 and was designed by architect Denys Lasdun. It is Grade I listed by Historic England.

While stylistically brutalist, the majority of the building is not bare concrete but rather clad in porcelain mosaic tiles (as seen here on the first and second floors) or in dark engineering brick (at ground level). The spiral staircase glimpsed in the background at the left is faced in shuttered concrete however, resembling elements of Lasdun's National Theatre.
