Great Court, British Museum
In 2000 the British Museum's central courtyard - the Great Court - reopened as an enclosed space, having originally been open to the sky.
The glass roof was designed by Foster + Partners, and links the four outer wall of the courtyard to the central circular Reading Room (the wall of which is on the left of this shot).
