The Palatine Chapel is the royal chapel of the Norman kings of Sicily and is part of the Palazzo dei Normanni. It was commissioned by King Roger II of Sicily in 1132 and was completed in 1140.
It is decorated with mosaics, many depicting the Acts of the Apostles. On the wall in this picture can be seen scenes from the life of St Paul, e.g. baptism on the left.
