Pamukkale travertines

In Pamukkale, hot springs bubble up at the top of the hillside. As the water trickles down, chalky travertine deposits have crystallised out, forming pools which step down the hillside in a series of terraces.

 

Some of the steps are linked by stalactite-like formations.
