When his scout ship crashed to Earth, he was stranded. With no place to turn, the visitor took refuged in his downed saucer. However, in its wrecked state one system remained perfectly functional. One morning he awoke to find that his ship had regained altitude, but it took some of the ground with it.
No longer spaceworthy, the alien, Alfonse as he had come to be known<, decided to call this planet home. While he could accept the primitive coal combustion that these beings used, he couldn't help but add his own technological twist to his island.
After many years Alfonse still hasn't contacted his home.
