WCGB Week - Project Cure 05202010 - Englewood
Project Cure collects, sorts and distributes donated medical supplies to appx 100 developing countries around the world. For a $20,000 donation from the receiving country (to cover shipping), Project Cure does an in-person needs assessment and then gathers enough materials to fill a large shipping container valued at appx $400k.
The Denver warehouse prepares an average of 1 shipping container per week. Shipments over the past several months have gone to several countries including Haiti, the Republic of Georgia and Mexico. (A list of countries served by the organization is available here.)
Volunteers were members of the Design Services Team here in Englewood: Andy Mickelson (mgr), Christian Stack, Art Enke, Regan Peschal, Steve Bianco, Eric Hasbargen, Bess Ashley, Kathy Krob, Lauren Plekan, Jenn Mueller, Steph Wilhelm and Stephanie Koplar.
