Ridgid - Pipe Wrench After A Fire

52 Weeks of Pix 2012

Week 33 of 52

Theme: Brand Names

With temperatures running up to and exceeding 110 Fahrenheit for several days and a summer without appreciable rain, much of the central United States is "tinderbox dry". Wildfires have been a major problem. While helping with recovery from a wildfire west of Fort Collins, Colorado, and previously in Ruidoso, New Mexico, I came home to help with recovery from a wildfire not 25 miles from my home. The fire in Luther, Oklahoma burned over two dozen homes.

Not much survives a house fire, which burns as high as 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit. The few items that can survive that sort of heat include cast iron skillets and some heat tempered tools. Shown here is a pipe wrench recovered from a home in Luther, Oklahoma.

A sample of some of the work done at these sites can be seen in this slideshow I made:

It is one of six I have on YouTube.
