Week 18 - Smoke
What an amazing challenge! I'd never done anything like this before and certainly have new found respect for those who can do this. I took about 250 shots and never found a good, consistent method to get an acceptable image. I did happen across a few that I could work with, however.
I enjoyed this so much and spent so much time with it, I'm having a really hard time choosing just two images. If you like what you see, you might like to also check the following set in my Photostream: 52 Weeks of Pix 2012 - Smoke
The exercise forced me to learn more about my equipment than I had previously known, such as how to use my speedlight in "remote" mode.
I also had to get in touch with my inner hippie. Hey, I didn't even know where to buy incense. I found that coconut is good. :-)
