Subsequently a whole line of tanks was named after Patton, including the Patton M46, M47, M48 and M60. The first three were classified as "Medium" tanks while the M60 was a "Main Battle Tank".
This tank is the M60; the line was retired from US service in 2005 but remains in service by many countries around the world.
