CrossTimbers Flood Damage

Due to recent flooding in the Turner Falls area of Oklahoma, a camp run by the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma (BGCO) experienced flooding. The flooding caused the suspension of one week's camp and the cancelation of a second week. To assist in getting the camp functional for subsequent weeks, Sam Porter, State Director for Disaster Relief at the BGCO, recruited a team to work with about twenty college-aged camp staff to repair the flood damage.

Normally our Disaster Relief teams don't do reconstruction, we just make the property mold-safe and it is the home owners responsibility to get the property restored. But in this instance, the property is a BGCO-owned property and the ministry of the camp is on-hold until it can be reopened. Therefore the reconstruction effort was incorporated into the job.
