Jack as a 19th Century Photographer - MICA Studio 1970s
I was looking in a box of photographs for some images I needed for an upcoming lecture when I opened a 4X5 film box to find a series of images we made in the early 1970s. Jack wanted to give his studio photography class a project to make portraits in the spirit of the 19th century. We used a projector to enlarge a landscape photograph on background paper and with the assistance of the students painted it. We made the "rock" in the foreground from chicken wire and papier mache. It was a fun project and we closed up the studio for a school break of a long weekend. We came back with the intention of continuing the project. We opened the studio to find a lump of chicken wire and some crumbs of paper. The roaches had eaten the entire "rock"!
I have added an alternate version with a more "western" costume.
