Tintype of Twins - Demonstrating Why a Head Brace is Important

We went to the monthly antique show today. I bought 1 tintype, 3 photo booth pictures, 6 vernacular snapshots, and one memorial composition. I do not have time to post them all tonight so I will start with 3 and add more later.

This little tintype of twin boys could serve as an illustration for the importance of a head brace when photographing children. The base of a head brace can be seen behind the feet of the little fellow on the right. He has managed to stay still so that his face and the two rows of brass buttons on his coat are sharp. The little one on the left has no head brace showing and his face is a blur and his buttons show streaks of movement. The photographer would have done well to invest in more than one head brace.
