The Homestead/General Store - Ambrotype on Ruby Glass
Five men, two women and a grazing horse (at the right edge of the frame) are photographed in front of a two story building with a one story extension to the side. The door is open on the two story section of the building and one of the women sits in the doorway. Around the door are arraigned a broom, barrels, some baskets, boxes, a scythe, an ox yoke and perhaps some boots. The long one story section is behind a fence and a stand of large trees. I think the two story section is a store with merchandise displayed outside the door and the extension is the home of the store keeper.
