Eva C. (Martha Béraud) Medium with Ectoplasm - Stereo Real Photo Postcard

This stereo postcard is attributed to Eva C. (Martha Béraud) a French medium. In the 1920s she was photographed with what was described as "ectoplasm" that took forms like the face above her head in this stereo postcard. When viewed with a stereo postcard viewer there is an appearance of depth in the scene. It would seem a bit harder to fake than a single image but it seems likely that she discovered a way to do it. It also seems ironic that a "spirit" face would so closely resemble a style you would expect in popular 19th century prints.

Unlike most "spirit photographs" where the spirit was unseen in the studio and only appears in the photograph, the ectoplasm extras could be seen by anyone present at the seance.

If you are interested in researching Eva C. I suggest you start with a web site by Zoe Beloff, a film marker who made a 3D film about her called "The Ideoplastic Materializations of Eva C." At one time I was able to find a website that showed clips from the film but now can only find this site that shows drawings from the film.
