Woman with a Bicycle - English Cabinet Card
This cabinet card of a woman with a very small waist who stands with a bicycle is by J. H. Thompson of Salford, England. My sister was with me when I bought it and thinks she looks like Miss Almira Gulch in the Wizard of Oz. I think she is too young and her expression is too pleasant to be the mean woman who was out to get Toto and turned into the Wicket Witch. Actually the hat does look a bit like Miss Gulch's hat. Maybe it is her and the photograph was made when she was younger before she moved to Kansas and life soured her disposition.
Putting it away I realized that I had not recorded what was on the back. "Theresa Birkly
