In former times town houses of noble families were known as 'Hotels' another word for mansion.
Brémond d'Ars is a surviving family of the French nobility originating in Saintonge. It is one of the most distinguished in Saintes and has a proven lineage dating back to 1390. It provided many officers, gentlemen of the king's chamber, chamberlains, pages, two knights of Malta and more recently a member of the European Parliament. The house is now converted into apartments.
