Nga Manu Wildlife Sanctuary
"Nga Manu" is Maori for "many birds", so you will gather that it is mostly a bird sanctuary rather than wildlife per se. (But they have eels, too. We *just* missed the daily eel-feeding! Bummer!)
Here, in addition to some ducks, are a couple of pukekos -- striking blue and black birds with red heads and long red legs. They are ALL over the place in NZ, along the sides of roads. Not very good runners, not very good fliers, sort of endearingly ungainly.
