David And Goliath
No win for David this time. I was headed to the Sacramento
National Wildlife Refuge when I spied several Red Tailed Hawks on a short stretch of freeway side fencing. A wide shoulder enabled me to pull off. After playing the game of "hop to the next post, then the next one" a few times we moved ahead to a further bird, which appeared very interested in a spot in the grass right below it's post. After 5 minutes or so, the bird came down about 8 feet from the car and came up with this treat. I often have a hard time not clipping some part of the bird when this close, but this time I nailed it. Then I cropped the heck out of it to better see the prey. Go figure.
