Feeding Frenzy

Every year at Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area there is a short window of time when some of the wetlands are allowed to dry up. If you catch it when the water is almost gone, you'll find a lot of activity in these areas. It's almost always the Snowy Egrets taking advantage; they seem to have an instinct for this. Oddly, a couple years ago I came across one of these areas that had just finished evaporating, and there were hundreds of large Crayfish left high and dry, but no one came to dine...
