Slaying Dragons

I was sitting on the shore of a pond at Yolo Wildlife Area today waiting for a Northern Harrier flyby, when i noticed this Snowy Egret stalking closer and closer. It was catching and eating something too small to see through the viewfinder, even at 600 mm. Suddenly it darted about 3 feet towards the shore and came up with this! The best part was that it took about 2 minutes to get the thing down, giving me plenty of time and various angles to get a decent shot. Looking at the shots later, the other menu items were very small insects and fish.
