Female Common Merganser on Red Lake, shortly before she entered the secret portal to the underworld - there were 3 diving near the dam, and after one dive, they never came up. Seriously, we could see the entire eastern half of the lake, and they never reappeared until 30 minutes later - in the same location where they last dove. Either they can hold their breath that long or something foul is afoot.
