++ Archives of Geek: Family History

Who remembers the tragic tale of Geek?

Anyone?

No?

Here's the short version. There's this Geek, right? He's really sad. Was really sad. After several misadventures he was accidently killed by rogue dice during a game of Dungeons & Dragons with his three brothers Clint, Leslie and Bilbo.

Since then Geek's only friend Jeremy has been trying to find a way of bringing him back to life, though each attempt has so far failed.

Towards the end of 2011 I came into the posession of a stash of old photos from Geek's collection. I have been trying to piece together Geek's family history ever since.

This photo in particular piqued my interest.

This is Geek's great-grandad. His name, according to the photograph, is Gianni Geekarilio. This is his mugshot, complete with details of his heinous crimes. Scary looking guy isn't he?

Or is he?

I did some research and found out that Gianni Geekarilio was actually Gerald Bumgass, local sheep thresher and noted idiot. Under close examination with a magnifying glass the photo reveals that the long list of crimes detailed on the mugshot aren't as terrifying as you might have thought:

> Throwing chewing gum on the street

> Leaving the toilet seat up

> Terrible fashion sense

> Organizing illegal barn dances

> Theft of pants from next door neighbour's washing line

> Feeding chips to seagulls

> Farting constantly

> Membership of the Hammond organ society

> Shouting at adverts on TV

Ironically the one crime that he did commit that got him in trouble was never written on the photograph. He left the gate open, 100 sheep got out of a field, ran amok and caused £50,000 worth of damage to the village Gerald lived in. The police arrested him for being an idiot.

Gerald, shamed by own idiocy, quickly invented a fake name and personality based on an article he'd read in the newspaper that morning. Don Gianni Geekarilio was born.

It didn't help him of course, in typical Geek fashion it just made things worse as the police pinned a number of unsolved crimes on Gerald and he went to prison for the rest of his life.

Just another fascinating and tragic tale in the Geek family tree.
