289/365 # Beware the eyes of March . . .

Nearly went against everything I ranted about yesterday and posted the most boring shot ever. I had to fight with this shot all the way before I figured out something to do with it. Basically, take away the textures and weird eyes and what you got left is the world's most boring SP.

Enough of that - the gig last night was cool. I even quite liked the two support acts. Red Light Company were awesome of course, and although I took my camera I bottled out of actually taking any shots, apart from this test shot. I'd love to say that if I had a decent zoom lens (yes, I'm talking 18-200mm again) I'd've got a lot more shots, but the reality is I'd never take a £500+ lens anywhere near the sweaty, pissed-up bunch of c*nts that turned up last night. Sir Nikon stayed safe in his case, and a good job too because as soon as RLC started the floor started moving. Actually moving, no shit. It was like standing on top of a solid wave of . . . of . . . whatever the floor was made out of.

It was cool. Didn't meet them this time though. Shame. Did manage to get hold of a couple of posters though. Because Jon went round ripping them off the walls they'd been stuck on.

The tutorial I used as the basis for the eyes is here.

Textures by billionstrang and ~Essence of a Dream~.

Today I've mostly spent with Lydia and the kids in the morning, and trying to get this shot looking half decent this afternoon. Tonight will be spent on the sofa, with Lydia, watching Buffy.

Strobist info: SB600 to camera left at 1/4 power. There's a door to my left, and I bounced the flash off it with the door about halfway open.
