239/365 # The Prayer

I took a day off work today to go out around Dorset with my great buddy Jons Addicted to take some photos. The weather was crap till about midday so we just about missed the bad weather and got some shots.

One thing I learnt today: I'm much better at taking photos when I have time to set it up - most of the shots I got today were complete craaaaaap. And I can't buy a decent landscape shot.

This was taken in St Catherine's Chapel in Abbotsbury. It dates from the 15th Century so Jon tells me. It certainly was a cool place to take photos in.

I dunno what everyone else makes of it, but I quite like the fade to blackness at the top of the shot, and the fact that the shadow looks like it's kneeling down and praying (you might have to check it out bigger to see that).

I had to force myself not to stick this in Photoshop and chuck a load of light trails into the mix, but this shot is SOOC - possibly a first in my 365 - and I didn't want to take away the SOOC-ness by Photoshopping the hell out of it.

Today me and Lyds also had our 20 week scan and saw Ralph again - everything is good, appendages in the right place and all accounted for, heart beating etc. It was so cool, I can't wait till baby's here. Oh, and we think it's a boy (Lydia thinks she saw evidence), but we didn't ask so it's still going to be a surprise when Ralph finally does appear.

Strobist info: SB600 to camera left at full power. I didn't have my light stand with me so Jon did the honours and held it at head height.

So way better bigger
