174/365 # Centre Parcs - Day 3

Urgh. Last night Joe was sick. Really sick. Same thing that Ben had at the end of last week I think, except Joe had it twice as bad. The poor lad was up nearly all night throwing up, and Lydia spent the entire night looking after him.

Then this morning I got up . . . and was sick too. Somewhere along the line I passed out, believe it or not, and when I came round (after a couple of seconds by what Lydia told me) Lydia was standing over me because she'd heard a thump, come in and found me lying on the floor. It was the weirdest feeling, because I remember wondering what Lydia was fussing about, and how comfortable I was, and how I didn't feel ill anymore. It took me a minute to realise I was lying on the (cold, stone) bathroom floor with no recollection of how I got there.

Lucky for me Lydia thinks my head hit the bin on the way down, otherwise I could've had a concussion to go with all the sickness.

Are you laughing yet? You should be, it's f**kin' hilarious!

I'm most definitely the lucky one. Ben, when he was ill, was pretty damn sick. Joe was really bad, he was up for most of last night. Lydia's had to look after all of us, including putting up with me and my sickness phobia, and has probably had even less sleep than any of us. If you want a reason why I think she's the most amazing person in the world, look no further. She has a strength that defies belief. And she's done all this while . . . well, I'll leave that for another time.

Needless to say, I only took the bare minium of shots today. I had this idea while lying in bed feeling sorry for myself. I liked the brightness and cleanliness of the bathroom, and it had some nice shadows going on. And as it's the scene for the most 'interesting' thing that happened today, it makes it into my 365. Sorry I'm sitting there looking like Death, I think I'm feeling better now, and was not too bad when I took the shot so it's not like I was feeling like shit warmed up when I took the shot.

Lydia took Ben shopping for a DVD as he's been bouncing off the walls today being cooped up. When they got back I was taking my 365 and Ben walked in front of the camera. I was about to tell him off when he held something out in his chubby little hand and said "Daddy, I got you some songs you like". Lydia and Ben had bought me Death Magnetic, the new Metallica album, to cheer me up. I gave that kid some hugs, bless him. Sometimes it's worth waiting to let them speak before getting on their case.

My new album will go nicely with Chinese Democracy - oh yes. Whether it's shite or not, as a Guns n' Roses fan I had to pre-order it and it arived on Monday just before we left. So I brought it with me, even though I'm not going to listen to it until I have some quality time with just me and my mp3 player. It can't be bad, can it? You can't spend fifteen years making an album and it turn out to be bad can you?

I'll find out soon enough. For now, I'm signing off to slouch on the sofa for a while longer. Hopefully we've all got this damn bug out of our systems and we can enjoy what's left of our holiday.

It is a nice bathroom
