173/365 # Centre Parcs - Day 2

I'm having the most awesome time. Last year I was right grumpy git, especially towards Joe and Ben, so this year I'm just chillaxin', letting the kids be kids and genuinely having a great time.

Still taking loads of photos, I don't want to miss anything . . . but then I don't want to be hidden behind the lens all week so it's a delicate balancing act. Basically I'm relying on Lydia to start giving me disapproving glances when I'm taking too many photos.

And speaking of the missus, say hi! This is her debut in my 365. I had her first appearance all planned out to coincide with our wedding anniversary but I can't go on holiday and not post a family portrait now can I?

Joe's not smiling because he was in a shit mood - we'd just told him he wasn't allowed to spend thirty quid on a pair of trainers that would cost him ten pounds less in the real world. It must've taken him at least twenty minutes to come out of his mood! He takes after his old man, no question.

It was a gorgeous day today, cold but bright. We went down to the sports bar early and let the kids run in the soft play area while me and Lyd sat on the comfy sofas, drank tea and ate bacon sandwiches.

We took a walk round the lake, which is where we stopped to take this shot. We've been swimming, inside and in the outdoor pool (which is nice and warm), stopping in the jacuzzi before coming back to the apartment.

The kids have managed to get their hands on a frankly ridiculous amount of new toys from the toyshop, but they're behaving really well and if we can't spoil them when we're on holiday when can we? I love seeing their little faces when they get their new toy. And it makes me chuckle when, half an hour later, they're enquiring as to the timing of our next visit to the toyshop for the next round.

I seem to have gone totally against what I said yesterday and bored you with the details of what we did today . . . you can just ignore this blurb if y'want, I just realised that it'd be a great way to remind me what we did on holiday.
