110/365 # Throwin' horns

You know what? Bad moods are really good for the creative process.

Yesterday I was in a bit of a bad mood . . . have a look why doncha?

I didn't know what to do for my 365 - didn't want to do my 365 at all actually, so just stood in front of the camera and gave it the ol' double-barrelled one fingered salute.

Somehow the ISO shot up to 1600, I have no idea why. Must've pressed a button by accident.

The end results surprised me though, the high ISO worked really well with the B&W treatment and I got exactly the shot that I wanted. And I really liked it, it's one of my favourites so far.

I wasn't annoyed at anything big, just a few things pissed me off, like my mp3 player's on it's last legs (I can't survive bus journey's to work without it), Ben had been upset at school and Lydia was stressing out about working when she feels like she should dedicating more time to the boys . . . silly things really, but I got home in a bad mood.

Anyway, long story short etc, after taking the photo things got better. As I said, I was pleased how it turned out. I had a look at Flickr Scout and two more of my shots had gone into Explore - both shots with Joe in, I'll be getting him involved more often I think. So that was cool.

And jumping forward in time, yesterday's shot also went into Explore today (somewhere in the 200s I think) which was extra cool because most of my Explored shots I don't actually like much. Thanks to everyone who looked and left comments!

And now jumping back in time (to yesterday) I came to a decision. I decided that I'm not ready for a D80. I can't justify spending £600 on a camera when I've only just taken up the hobby properly this year. So I texted my mate whose D50 I'm borrowing becasue he gave me first refusal if I wanted it, and he agreed to sell it to me for £150! This means I can get a 50mm lens and still have enough left over to get a new mp3 player for my birthday.

And I can get used to the camera I've got instead of buying something that's way more than I need. Or can handle.

This shot's a continuation of what I did yesterday . . . basically because ideas are still in short supply!

I'll do a mini-series if I can think of enough hand gestures to last me another three days . . any suggestions, please let me know!

By the way, go check out this set by Jeff Galasso - photos from The Wildhearts gig I went to at the weekend.
