106/365 # Guardian at the gate
Got off work early again today to pick Joe and Ben up from school - always a good end to the week.
My boss is forcing me to take a day off soon because my flexi-time is too high - not only do I have to take a day off, I have to leave early everyday for a week! Oh go on then, if I have to.
So two weeks today I'm going to have a whole Friday off to do whatever I want! I'm thinking lie-in then out to take some photos.
We went to see my parents after work and school - the kids were tired after yesterday but they were pretty good and it was nice to see the olds, I haven't seen them for a couple of weeks.
While we were there I took the opportunity to use their back garden to take some photos. I got some decent shots of some naturey crap (see here and here), a 365 outtake and this shot.
What can I say about this shot . . . I was a bit short of ideas? I do quite like the perpective though.
Tomorrow I'm going to see The Wildhearts - one of my all-time favourite bands.
Not so well known outside the world of Kerrang, nontheless they are one of the UK's greatest bands.
If you click the link above which takes you to their MySpace page you'll se they describe themselves as Rock/Metal/Pop Punk, but they're so much more than that. Imagine all those genres mixed together with melodies and harmonies The Beatles would kick themselves for not writing - that's The Wildhearts.
And with song titles like My Baby Is A Headfuck and Shut Your Fucking Mouth and Use Your Fucking Brain you can't help but like them right?
They were so close to being a seriously big band but they always seemed to implode at just the wrong time and undo all their hard work. Drink and drugs were mostly to blame by the sounds of things but they've since rid themselves of those demons and are back making amazing music.
I'm so excited about this gig, I've been a fan since I was seventeen and someone played me Caffeine Bomb on their car stereo.
The gig is to celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of the release of their first album Earth vs The Wildhearts and they'll be playing the whole album plus all the b-sides from the singles released from the album.
It's going to be so great! So I'm off to London and Shepherds Bush Empire tomorrow night to see 'em.
Expect a seriously lame shot tomorrow because I'll be getting it out of the way early before I go see The Wildies. Apologies in advance.
