100/365 # Heist!
Let me start today by saying this idea is a blatant steal from Stephen Poff, specifically this shot. It's really cool, please, please check it out because it's superb.
So I've made it to day 100, the ideas have dried up and I'm resorting to pinching ideas from other people, hopefully I've put my own spin on it enough that it doesn't seem like too much of a rip-off.
This was an idea I started working on last night in Photoshop. I thought if I could get the background finished I could just take the shot of me today, chuck it on top of the background and be done. And I was wrong.
There's so many mistakes and bits that I just couldn't be arsed to spend enough time on, so as long as you don't look too closely you might not spot the raggedy bits.
Actually, you can't see it much bigger than this because in my wisdom I didn't consider the canvas size when I started creating it so this is it at about maximum size. I didn't realise this until I finished it and it's really pissed me off.
I'm not sure about the colours or textures, it seems far too busy to me. In fact, the only thing I do like is the 'painting' that's 'hanging' on the 'wall'. Even then the embossed edge along the top looks crap.
And that big dark, vaguely human-shaped blob on the left? Yeah, that's me. Hate it.
What this was meant to be was me looking back over my last 100 days to the beginning, and considering the steps I've made in between.
At the moment I'd say bugger all, I'm so annoyed with this damn picture . . . I spent ages on it, it looks shit . . . just looking at it's annoying me.
So there you have it. Day 100. Sucks. Me and Lydia took Ben out for a walk this afternoon so I might have a few decent shots from that to upload later.
I suppose that shows I've learnt one important lesson from the last 100 days - always take a camera with you wherever you go!
