96/365 # The office
No good ideas today, nor any time to get any decent shots, so today I'm going to give you a tour of my desk at work! Don't all leave at once . . .
So busy today, I had to get to work early today to go to Bournemouth for a seminar from the HMRC (Inland Revenue) at the BIC (Bournemouth International Centre acronym fans).
It was basically three speakers giving us info about all things topical in the world of payroll, a run through of statutory pay and finally a bit about new technology being introduced to file P45s and P46s online - fascinating eh? And in between the speakers we got the chance to visit various stands with experts just waiting to answer all our questions.
Didn't get too much out of it, to me it was pitched more towards smaller employers than an employer of county council size. It was worth going for the first speaker alone though, a guy with a really broad Geordie accent with a wicked sense of humour.
I sort of fell asleep (actually for real did fall asleep briefly) when the second speaker came on, he had a monotonous voice and was lumbered with talking about statutory pay. He also had to follow the wickedly funny Geordie so was fighting a losing battle.
So there was that in the morning, and then when I got back to the office the phones didn't stop ringing! So I was pretty busy all day, but at least I wasn't bored. Except for that second speaker of course, heh heh.
And then after work we all went round my parents house because it's my brother's 21st birthday today, so we went round for a little partay my folks laid on for him.
So, busy.
And then there's this photo. Well . . . it's a bit pants really isn't it?
I took it at 7:45 this morning while I was waiting to leave for Bournemouth. I've put a load of notes all over it to make it more interesting, have a nose around!
If nothing else it'll give you a little insight into my world . . . other than that it's artistically barren.
I'm rapidly approaching day 100 too and I hope I get a good idea to do for it. It's this Saturday so I'll have some time to do something cool . . . if I can come up with something cool that is.
So yeah, go check out the notes, then I don't mind if you leave quietly shaking your head with pity ha ha!
