95/365 # Life in a glasshouse
This idea was so much better in my head.
After yesterday's frankly atrocious efforts at photography where I underexposed every shot (bar the blown out one) it dawned on me again that it's all very well knowing a few tricks in Photoshop but when it comes to taking an actual photograph I'm sadly lacking in the skills department.
The approach I wanted to take today was just to get a good shot straight out of camera and maybe tweak it a little bit.
As you can see that didn't happen and this has been given the full Lightroom treatment.
I was speaking to Disco~Stu today moaning about my crap photography skills and being all jealous of his amazing talents (you want proof? Go check out his photostream and take a look at the amazing shots he got on Portland at the weekend) where we discussed metering and stuff. I made an arse out of myself getting metering confused with white balance, there was much laughing about it but I think I learned something. Sadly I didn't put it into practise today.
I'm not sure why I thought standing in the greenhouse would make a good shot . . . but what the hell! At least I've finally found a use for it.
If you look closely you might be able to see Lydia's tomatoes! They go well in a cheese sandwich.
I cribbed the title from a Radiohead track, the closing song from their album Amnesiac.
