73/365 # Gu-DJING!

Oh my God this is an awful shot . . . but I love it!

We had our last band rehearsal before we head into two gigs on consecutive weekends. We've got quite a few new songs in the set and they're sounding good - in fact today went really well and we rocked like . . . something really rockin'. The next two gigs should be good, and I've decided to save all my gig money till the end of the year to put towards an SLR.

To make an effort and get outside the confines of my house I took the camera with me because where we practise has a gym hidden away at the back and I thought it'd be a good place to shoot my 365.

I had this idea of doing a Pete Townsend, I was going to include my amp in the shot but in the end I couldn't be arsed to unplug it, haul it down to the gym for a few photos then haul it back up the stairs again to resume making noise.

This wasn't as hard as I thought it'd be, mostly becuase I had a special helper, Jon's Addicted, counting down the timer for me to make sure I was airborne at the point the shutter dropped.

They've repainted since I was last in here, imagine my shock when I walked in to find orange paint on the walls! It is an awful shot from a technical standpoint, it's fuzzy and noisy, but I think I managed to get round this by adding some textures to make it look like it's meant to be that way. You gotta work with what you got.

I got a couple of (technically) better shots today but I used this one because . . . well, it's friggin' hard to jump with a guitar! And I do really like this shot.

I've posted two of the (technically) better shots, one featuring Jon himself - it's a departure for me as it's not at all serious. In any way. Trust me, have a look here.

And talking of serious, I've read some stuff on Flickr the last few days that makes me realise just how lucky I am, and how much I've been moaning lately about trivial things. I have an really easy life compared to a lot of people and I can't even see it because I'm too busy being negative.

Enjoy that orange paint in full - 1970s-tastic!
