58/365 # Joking. Practically.
Spent ages typing up a description for this shot, when I went to upload it the uploader went mental and never uploaded the shot! And I lost all my description text too.
Well, what I originally explained was that I'd decided to do a Clone miniseries to justify posting clone shots for the last three days. This is (hopefully) the fourth of five, depending on whether my idea for tomorrow works out or not.
The other item on my agenda for today is: hopefully you've noticed I changed my Flickr screen name this morning. I no longer feel the need to declare the fact that I'm an amateur - y'know what? I'm proud I don't have much of a clue! It means I'm less worried about breaking the rules because . . . well, I don't know 'em!
This isn't to say I'm not interested in learning the rules, just that I'm at peace with the current status of my talents but hope to improve. So now I'm just plain ol' Daz* (the star is not arrogance, just Daz had already been taken), and it's a relief to get rid of the amateur from my name - it took too long to type into Flickr Scout for one thing!
I gotta say that the main reason I've ditched the amatuer tag is because of you guys and your constantly encouraging words. Y'all rock.
The shot itself is something I've had planned for a while - it's kinda symbolic of the fun Daz coming back after the last few weeks of work and other stuff that's left me a bit knackered inside and out.
I did also think of it as a comment on my being my own worst enemy, just when things are going well I'm there to trip myself up - mostly due to my over self-deprecating nature that turns into me putting myself down at every opportunity, especially at work.
But I'm going with the return-to-fun-Daz concept, it's more in keeping with my currently improving mood of positive-ness.
Fun stuff I did today: Learnt most of the guitar parts for Yes by the Manic Street Preachers and started re-reading High Fidelity by Nick Hornby - love the film too but the books are always better than their big-screen alter egos! Favourite scene from the film is one of the delted scenes: the one where Rob (aka John Cusack) goes to the lady's house and she's flogging her old man's almost priceless record collection for like five dollars? Totally brilliant, they should've left it in the film! But paper always beats celluloid, even The Godfather's a better book than film, and I rate the film as one of my favourites ever.
