39/365 # Seven miles in two and a half hours

Oh my GOD.

I work in Dorchester, which is about seven miles from where I live in Weymouth. So how long do you think it takes to get home on the bus?

If you said two and a half hours give yourself a pat on the back, cos that's exactly how long it took tonight.

They're doing roadworks on the main road into Weymouth, and anyone who lives nearby will know that Weymouth has a real traffic problem - one way in and out, unless you take the scenic route. And we're lucky enough to be hosting the sailing events for the 2012 Olympics, which is going to cause havoc unless the council pull their finger out and get the relief road built. That, incidentally, has been campained for since the early part of the 20th cenury to my knowledge.

In the end I got off the bus at Upwey, which is about three miles from my house, and walked the rest of the way home. And I still beat the bus home. And the bus before it. Mental.

Had to come up with a really quick idea because I didn't get home till half past seven. Here's the result - the best I could come up with quickly.

It's alright actually, I quite like it. Just don't ask me what the bucket and spade are for!

As you can imagine, I got through a fair few tunes on the way home: Led Zeppelin II and Physical Grafitti, as well as half of Beano by John Mayall's Bluesbreakers - that's the classic album with Eric Clapton. What an amazing sound he gets out of his guitar (a Gisbon Les Paul I seem to remember?) - I'm not a huge Clapton fan but he's untouchable on this album.

And then at work I listened to Team Sleep, which is Chino Moreno's (singer from the Deftones) side project. Well worth a listen, it's like listening to a really chilled out Deftones.

PS: Thanks to everyone who gave me advice about apertures - it's been really helpful and I appreciate the tips very muchos.
