22/365 # Cup o' Daz

First off, thanks to everyone for their comments on yesterday’s shot – seems to have gone down well which is very cool.

A very special and HUGE thankyou to my great buddy Disco~Stu who made the shot great by sitting down in the foreground with a look of zen-like calm – I can’t take credit for that, it’s pure Disco~Stu genius.

Cheers mate, in my opinion you made the photo work and without you it would be just some dummy hanging by his toes from a wall. You should all follow the link to his photostream right now and check out his shots! They’re great - but then I think I may be preaching to the converted.

Secondly, I apologise for today’s shot. I had this idea (as you do) to do a shot based around today’s weather (raining, windy, cloudy) and was going to try something using our shower and some deviously clever rotating of the photo. This didn’t pan out, not enough room in our bath for me, the camera and tripod and a shower spitting out hot water.

Then I was having a cuppa and I looked at my cup and I thought (again, I think my sense of humour needs an MOT) wouldn’t it be funny if I was in the cup?

So that’s what I did. Took a photo of my cup, then one of me pretending to peer out of it. Then did some photoshopping and hey presto! One (slightly dodgy) shot of me peering over the edge of my cup.

And that’s that! Today was fairly routine, work went by without incident, it was quite good fun actually. Left early (2:30! Love flexitime!) and picked the boys up from school and nursery. We went to Joe’s school’s summer fair – interesting experience given the rank weather we’re ‘enjoying’ just now. But the kids were good, bless ‘em, and we had a nice time despite the crap weather.

Tomorrow will be spent frantically learning new songs for our next band practise. We've got a gig in three weeks and we need to refresh our set so don't be surprised if tomorrow's 365 features guitars . . .

Oh yes, you can view on black
