14/365 # Hangin' with Cal
What a day! Nothing exciting, just spent most of it slugging it out with a particularly nasty spreadsheet - urg, it turned the inside of my head out and made me dribble by the end of the day. I’ll crack it tomorrow, even if I have to stay till . . . oooooo . . . half past 3.
I was really up for doing my 365 tonight, had an idea that it would be awesome fun to pose with my favourite cartoon character of all time – Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes! If you’ve never experienced Calvin and Hobbes click here to see what all the fuss is about. It’s just the funniest, quirkiest comic strip ever and I’ve been a fan since I was about 10 or 11. And my youngest son Ben reminds me so much of Calvin, not only in terms of personality but he looks like him too! Ben even has the tuft of hair sticking out the back of his head!
It’s taken me hours (and caused an argument with the missus, think I’ll be posting some quickie shots for the next few days) to get this shot as I wanted it. I’ve used Lightroom, Photoshop and Paint (yes, Paint!) and at least three separate photos to get the shot above – but by God it was fun!
I’m pretty happy with the results, as always I think it could be better, but then who doesn’t? It’s certainly different to any 365 shot I’ve posted so far. Oh before I forget it's meant to have a certain 'glued together' look, kind of a scrapbook feel to it. I thought it'd add a bit of texture, break up the white a bit and add a bit of interest.
Friday tomorrow, and mum and dad have promised lasagne when we visit after work/school/nursery.
Hmm, tomorrow’s shot may have a slight pasta theme, with hints of cheese and garlic bread . . .
