More sand dunes near Stove Pipe Wells in Death Valley. I had waited all day one day for the sun to set, or just about set, to get the light right. I hiked out into the dunes, it took quite a while to find a spot without footprints all over. I set up my tripod and camera, and waited another half hour for the sun to get about right. Just then a busload of kids pulled up, they all ran out and all over the place - right in front of my camera - they didn't care. I went away fuming. The next day, all day was a sand storm. The wind was blowing really hard. Just as the sun was going down, the wind died down, and I got out there to get pics - no footprints any more - anywhere. It was great. Well worth the wait.
