Erigeron annuus
Erigeron annuus, known as annual fleabane, is a delicate member of the aster family that originally comes from North America. Today it has spread through much of Europe and is often found along roadsides, on railway embankments and on fallow ground. The plant usually grows between thirty and seventy centimeters tall and carries many small flower heads with fine white ray florets and a bright yellow center that look like tiny daisies. It blooms from early summer into autumn and offers a long lasting source of nectar and pollen for wild bees, hoverflies and other insects.
