Bennett Place

The Unity Monument stands tall outside on the grounds of Bennett Place State Historic Site

The columns are a symbol of the reconciliation and reunification of the United States after the Civil War.

Bennett Place is the site of the last major Confederate surrender, where General Joseph E. Johnston surrendered to General William T. Sherman on April 26, 1865.
