Framed by steel - Manchester in Focus

There’s something magnetic about symmetry in architecture—especially when it’s set against the ever-evolving skyline of Manchester. This shot was taken on the footbridge near Deansgate-Castlefield, looking out toward the iconic Beetham and Deansgate Square towers. The steel beams create a perfect industrial frame for the city’s modern ambition.

I’ve passed through this spot countless times, but the lighting and composition finally aligned on this day. The structure, colours, and clean lines tell a story of Manchester’s gritty, innovative spirit—blending its industrial roots with its sharp, modern growth.

Shot on iPhone and edited lightly to bring out the tones and shadows that give this bridge its unique energy.
