Wired

The agony

of

Memory

fixed in repeat

It

sinks

weaves

meanders

jumping

every

synapse

firing

throughout

My

Mind

Time stand

still!

let me recall

life’s fathomless beauty,

through

grief’s unrelenting

electrical storms.

...

Artist’s Note

I wrote this during a time when my memory felt like it had been scattered across an electric grid.

Trauma does that—repeats itself, jumps synapses, rewires your sense of self.

And when you add things like ECT to the mix, you’re left trying to make poetry out of static.

Wired is a poem about memory, grief, and the fierce plea to hold on to beauty—even as the current keeps snapping through.
