Waltz on the water

It would seem shooting a Disney park at night is not the best idea. It's gotta be me still warming up, cause this was my first actual set of nighttime photos in Japan and the first I've taken at this hour in a while, plus whatever I did wrong I fixed while at USJ cause those turned out great. But the spices must flow, and posts must be produced (with a focus on quality of course).

This was not one of intended stops tonight. I've told this story before but just in case, let me summarize real quick. I waited 4 hours (not exaggerating) for Journey to the center of the earth to reopen, worth it, but there was one hour left of operating hours when I got off. So after sprinting through Fortress Explorations and to Tower Of Terror, I began to run to my next destination, Raging Spirits. Along the way I saw Aquatopia still running, blue (or violet) glow on the ride vehicles as they ran.

Because I was in a rush and I didn't intend to stop here, I didn't change my shutter speed at any point (in retrospect I absolutely should've done that to the ride cars). The motion blur wasn't as prominent as I had hoped but the composition worked. After working against a poorly processed black sky, I was ready to start.

I dimmed a huge part of the roof, the buildings in the back, and the boarding station (cause it's not the subject of the image). And increase the exposure of all colored lights in the image. This land kind of resembles old school Tomorrowland. And it's almost criminal that Aquatopia (the ride you see here) was shortened for no real good purpose. Also, rest in peace Stormrider, a ride that made sense for it's land and was fully original, never got the chance to ride it. And it's replacement, finding nemo, makes no thematic sense whatsoever.

I hate Disney
