Statue of Sir Robert Clive (1725-74), Shrewsbury Market Place.
Probably a controversial statue to some people as he is better known as Clive of India and is widely credited for the foundation of British rule over India. Empire seems to be a "dirty" word these days, although with a certain president of America currently wanting Panama, Greenland and Canada I have to wonder.
