project solitude (11): Sonja

My real name is Seung - Ja. But that sounds like Sonja, and that's why I'm Sonja here in Germany.

I´m OK, but it always hurts me so much when I see people searching through trash cans for food or returnable bottles. I think, they probably don't have anyone left to help or be a friend.

I don't think loneliness should be confused with uniqueness.

Uniqueness, for example, as a famous artist, can make you feel lonely inside if you allow it.

But real, brutal loneliness affects material things, affects the necessities of life, and ultimately, affects life itself. And the number keeps increasing.

Eigentlich heisse ich Seung - Ja. Aber das klingt wie der Name Sonja und darum bin ich hier in Deutschland Sonja.

Mir geht´s ganz gut, aber mir tut es immer so besonders weh, wenn ich Leute sehe, die in den Abfallkörben nach Essbarem suchen, oder nach Pfandflaschen. Ich denke dann, der oder die hat bestimmt niemand mehr, der hilft oder auch ein Freund ist.

Ich glaube nicht, dass Einsamkeit mit Einzigartigkeit verwechselt werden sollte.

Einzigartigkeit, zum Beispiel als berühmter Künstler, kann innerlich einsam machen wenn man es zulässt.

Aber wirkliche, knallharte Einsamkeit, die geht ans Materielle, die geht an das Lebensnotwendige und schließlich an das Leben selbst. Und es werden immer mehr.
