"Mio figlio mi ha insegnato che l’amore vero è semplice. Non è complicato, non richiede gesti grandiosi: è reciproco, autentico, quotidiano. Quando entrambe le parti vogliono fare la loro parte, l’amore funziona. Se non è così, non serve forzarlo. Dalla vita degli adulti spesso impariamo frustrazione e delusione, ma da un bambino impari purezza, volontà di comprendersi e di sostenersi a vicenda. L’amore è questo: presenza, attenzione, semplicità. Cerco con queste parole di condensare qualcosa di molto più profondo e lungo."

authentic, and everyday. When both people are willing to do their part, love works. If not, there’s no point in forcing it. From adult life, we often learn frustration and disappointment, but from a child, you learn purity, the willingness to understand each other, and to support one another. Love is this: presence, attention, simplicity. With these words, I try to condense something much deeper and longer."
