Ancient Cottonwood Cluster

Nikon D800, Nikkor 24mm f2.8.

 

Cottonwoods are probably the fastest growing tree in ND, and seem to thrive pretty much anywhere the seeds land that is out of the way of a combine. This cluster of 2 or 3 trunks is absolutely massive - easily over 100 years old. The clouds that day prompted me to look up and get a couple of shots that I composited for this pano.
