Funningur is a quiet village on Eysturoy Island in the wild Faroe Islands. The settlement sits at the foot of Slættaratindur which is the highest mountain in the Faroe Islands.

 

According to legends, the first settlers in the Faroe Islands arrived in the deep valley as the first thing. Funningur sits in beautiful surroundings next to the rugged coastline.
