Passages Shipwreck © Cormac Mac Mahon

In the early morning of the 3rd of December 1931 the Passages ship ran aground in a great storm.

The ship's cook bravely swam through the raging sea with a rope, with which the remaining 12 people got to safety.

The boat has remained on the shore of Jurby Beach for over 90 years and is visable at low tide.
