Eurasian Jays © Cormac Mac Mahon

Eurasian Jays are known for their intelligence and impressive mimicry skills, even imitating the calls of other birds and sounds like human speech. They are also avid acorn planters, caching thousands of them each autumn, and many of these forgotten acorns sprout into new oak trees, contributing to forest regeneration. Additionally, they engage in "anting," where they disturb ant nests and allow the ants to crawl over them, potentially for parasite control.
